Osaka, Japan – May 10, 2025 – In collaboration with its long-standing Japanese partner Nisshin Kogyo Co., Ltd., a special event was hosted at the Belgian Pavilion of the World Expo 2025 in Osaka to officially introduce the U-BRS Alu Rail System to the Japanese market. The event welcomed a distinguished audience of architects and designers from the Kansai region, spread out over two sessions in the Pavilion’s multifunctional hall — one at 10:00 AM and a second at 2:00 PM.
Visitors were able to view live mockups and technical displays, including a full-scale installation of the U-BRS system with 20 mm porcelain tiles at a height of 60 cm highlighting the system’s technical excellence and versatility. Other Buzon innovations were also featured, such as the U-TOP-FLEX accessory for non-standard shapes and special angles, and the in Japan developed SBS Safety Backing Sheet, a self adhesive layer for porcelain tiles.
Architectural visuals were presented via large-format posters and a continuous video projection showcasing recent project references across Japan, reinforcing Buzon’s growing presence in the region.

Opening both sessions was Mr. Sohdai, President of Nisshin Kogyo Co., Ltd., Buzon’s exclusive partner in Japan. The event was further honoured by the presence of Mr. Evrard, the Belgian Ambassador to Japan, who delivered a closing address at the morning session and the opening speech for the afternoon gathering.
Buzon Asia’s Managing Director, Carlo Cosijns, led the keynote presentation, highlighting the 40-year history of innovation at Buzon, the company’s global reach, and its mission to raise the world to a higher level. His presentation covered the design evolution of the U-BRS Alu Rail System and its alignment with modern architectural needs for speed and ease of installation, long term stability and durability, flexibility, and aesthetic precision.

Special emphasis was placed on Buzon’s commitment to sustainable design, showing how its products are used to build environmentally responsible terraces — from rooftop terraces, water features to interior raised flooring, such as those featured in the Belgian Pavilion itself, where strict Expo design guidelines were met. This focus on sustainability and modular construction was a key reason why the architects of the Belgian Pavilion selected Buzon systems not only for all exterior terraces, but also for all interior floors — with the sustainable terrace design earning the prestigious Good Design Award in Japan, further reinforcing Buzon’s legacy of innovation and environmental responsibility.
Before and after each session, the exclusive guests enjoyed Belgian beers and cuisine on the rooftop terraces of the Belgian Pavilion, offering splendid views of the surrounding Expo grounds and the iconic Grand Ring — the world’s largest wooden architectural structure.
Following the success of this event, Buzon’s Japan agent Nisshin Kogyo, will host a second showcase in November 2025 at the Belgian Embassy in Tokyo, this time aimed at the architecture and design community based in the Kanto region.
